Prayer taken from page 283 of the April 2014 Magnificat.
A prayer for motorists by Pope John XXIII
“Protect us, o Lord, from all danger to men that may arise from the difficulties of travelling, the weariness of the body, or from inconsiderate speed, and as, o Lord, you graciously sent the archangel Raphael to be a travelling companion and protector to the young Tobias, so save all your children from all perils of soul and body, so that journeying along the ways of this world in your sight, they may deserve to reach the heaven of eternal salvation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
A Prayer for the Living and the Dead
“O divine heart of Jesus, grant, I pray you, eternal rest to the souls in Purgatory, the final grace to those who are about to die this day, true repentance to sinners, the light of faith to pagans, and your blessing to me and to all who are dear to me. To you, therefore, o most merciful heart of Jesus, I commend all these souls, and in their behalf I offer to you all the merits of your most blessed mother and of all the angels and saints, together with all the Masses, Communions, prayers, and good works which are this day being offered throughout the Christian world. Amen.”
